Sustaining the energy system

Ultimately, as well as decarbonising, we need to discover ways of using and generating energy that remove the need for fossil fuels. Demonstrating renewable energy’s capabilities and understanding its potential will help the world to rely on sources which don’t deplete its precious resources.

At TERC we have solar PV panels and use them to generate green energy for the site. That energy can be linked to the batteries and the hydrogen electrolyser to produce green hydrogen. We can then use the green energy with the green H2 and captured CO2 to generate sustainable fuels.

We are also capable of monitoring for emissions, and can look CO2 capture and also operating strategies and conditions of plants to control emissions, as well as having efficient pollutant clean-up systems installed in many of our facilities.
