Dr Maria Fernanda Rojas-MichagaPhD Student

    Dr Maria Fernanda Rojas-Michaga is a PhD Student at Energy 2050 at The University of Sheffield.

    Maria’s research is focused on techno-economic and life cycle assessment of the production of sustainable aviation fuels with neutral and negative carbon emissions, such as BECCS or Power-to-Liquids alternatives. At TERC, Maria Fernanda has been involved in different projects, such as the molten carbonate fuel cell project, as well as hydrogen production from biomass gasification.

    Maria studied Chemical Engineering at the University of San Simon, Bolivia, where she also worked as a lecturer. She has a Master’s degree in Energy and Processes from the IFP School in France.

    The Translational Energy Research Centre (TERC) is now a part of the Energy Innovation Centre at the University of Sheffield
